Normal Weight Gain Range

If a woman's weight is normal then she is expected to gain about 25-35 pounds.
If it is less than normal then she is expected to gain about 28-40 pounds.
If it is higher than normal (or obese) then she is expected to gain about 16-25 pounds.

Firsts three months take a total of 1 to 4 pounds
Following months (month 4 to month 9) take 2 to 4 pounds monthly

Losing weight during this phase or getting into weight loss programs are not recommended at all unless advised by your doctor. Nobody in such situation should try such programs as it may harm the woman and her unborn baby.
